Mission
The mission of Presbyterian Housing Program Inc. is to lead the way for comprehensive community development and economic revitalization in a targeted at-risk neighborhood and to improve the lives of qualified area individuals and families.  Presbyterian Housing Program achieves this mission by providing safe, decent, affordable housing and appropriate social services.

 History & Overview

In 1991, Grace Presbytery recognized a need for mission opportunities for area churches and the need for supportive housing for the homeless or those at risk of homelessness.  It was then that Presbyterian Housing Program Inc (PHP), a non-profit charitable corporation began.

Since it's inception, PHP has served over 65 families / individuals and provided a mission opportunity to more than 20 area churches.  This outreach has taken the form of rehabilitation of HUD homes for homeless families or those at risk of homelessness, to a mentor program that matched a Section 8 Housing family with a church in their community to provide them with guidance and advice as they worked towards self-sufficiency.

Currently, PHP is dedicated to comprehensive community development in an area of South Oak Cliff.  For the past several years, we have focused on the deteriorating housing stock that plagues the area.  PHP has made repairs to the homes of 11 low-income individuals / families / seniors in our community at no cost to them.  We have also built and sold three new affordable homes and have a fourth new affordable home under contract.  These homes provide the low-income working families with the opportunity for safe, decent, affordable housing.
